St. Luke's Health Care Center:
Since 1920, St. Luke’s Health Care Center has met the needs of under-served working families who could not afford health care. In 89 years, that need for low-cost medical care has not changed. Today, St. Luke’s remains one of the few places where patients, often limited by language, location and income, have access to high-quality outpatient care regardless of their families ability to pay. More than 60% of St. Luke’s patients are under or uninsured. It is one of the only health care charity centers of its kind in the Bay Area.
St. Luke’s is comprised of the hospital itself as well as three medical groups called “clinics”. The Pediatric Center, the Women’s Center and the General Services Center. These clinics provide outpatient services and refer patients to the hospital as needed. Last year the Pediatric Center alone had 11,000 visits.
St. Luke's Junior Auxiliary:
The Junior Auxiliary is made up of fifty women who volunteer their time, talent and energy to raise funds for the St. Luke’s Health Care Center. Founded in 1973, the Junior Auxiliary, with the help of thousands of donations has raised several million dollars for the Health Care Center and one hundred percent of every contribution goes directly to the Women’s and Pediatric Clinics.
How Your Donation is Used:
Funds raised by your generous donations have helped to provide women and children with a wide range of services including obstetrical and gynecological care; well-baby and well-child check-ups; immunizations, school physicals and sports physicals.
